Topology optimization of fluidic pressure-actuated compliant mechanisms

Welcome to the T0CoDE lab, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, IIT Hyderabad. We focus on the following interdisciplinary research areas:


  • Multi-disciplinary/-physics/-scale topology optimization

  • Compliant mechanisms

  • Inverse problems

  • Computational contact mechanics

  • Computational mechanics

  • Soft robots

in our research works. We develop novel approaches for solving various design optimization problems related to different applications using topology optimization. In addition, solving problems pertaining to computational mechanics and computational contact mechanics falls within our purview. Our research group is constantly looking for bright and motivated students to join and work with us.   • (July.  2023)  Prof. Prabhat gave short course on Topology Optimization and Design for Additive Manufacturing in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Hyderabad with Prof.  Gopinath Muvvala.

  • (Dec.  2022)  Prof. Prabhat delivered an invited talk on "Topology optimization of pressure-loaded multimaterial structures" in SICE 2022 at IIT-Hyderabad.

  •  (Dec.  2022)  Prof. Prabhat delivered  an invited talk on "Towards topology optimization of pressure-driven soft robots" in MAMM 2022 at IIT-Hyderabad.
